Choose the path to change and lead a better life

TAKING A LOOK AT STRESS & ANXIETY

Pauline's suggestions to help you with stress and anxiety

Stress is what we know today as the effect of life’s demands, whether they are pleasant or difficult demands.
Stress can be motivating but if anxiety is present, it can be debilitating. Debilitating stress is the difference between what is happening in life and how we are handling it all.
Anxiety, which makes stress debilitating, is an evolved, intellectual expression of primitive fear and also leads to increased nervous tension.
Increased tension stimulates more anxiety and increases the stress reaction creating a cycle which leads to psychosomatic symptoms.
Symptoms of stress and anxiety are surrounded by a host of negative emotions which may include fear, loneliness, frustration, sadness, depression, confusion, irritability, apprehension and nervousness.
Physical symptoms may include faintness, palpitations, tension, exhaustion, insomnia, headaches, nausea, breathing difficulties, claustrophobia and dizziness.
Mentally, it is possible to experience bizarre thoughts, feeling edgy and wound up, unable to cope, fear of insanity, pre-occupation with health and irrational fears.
Attempts to manage these symptoms lead to phobic reactions and obsessive compulsive behaviour.
It is now widely recognised that stress and anxiety can lead to coping difficulties and precipitate illness including cancer, heart attacks and strokes.
Stress and anxiety reactions have never been higher than now and widespread management is essential. These reactions can be relieved naturally when suitable healing conditions are provided. Stillness Meditation Therapy is one proven way to achieve lasting relief.

“I had suffered quite severe anxiety symptoms for at least 15 years and sought many forms of treatment when I came across Pauline’s book In Stillness Conquer Fear. This so accurately described much of what I was experiencing. I felt Stillness Meditation might hold the key to some relief. So I travelled from Queensland to Melbourne to undertake a course. Two years later, after practice at home and intermittent visits to Melbourne I am virtually symptom free. Stillness is a wonderful life-long skill that has enabled me to feel so much better and to approach life with much greater calm and ease”
